Take that smile to the bank! Handcrafted, delicately layered porcelain veneers gave this gorgeous lady a beautiful glow-up—but it is the perfectly executed smile framing that makes you want to stop and stare. The teeth are beautiful. The way the smile harmonizes with her lips and face is what makes the result captivating.
Better Proportions With a Gum Lift and Porcelain Veneers
Often, when patients come in asking for veneers, what they are really saying is, “I want a gorgeous smile.” Veneers alone would have improved the shade here, but what this smile truly needed was better proportions. We began with a conservative gum lift to create more harmonious tooth proportions, followed by gorgeous, hand-layered porcelain veneers. Before any treatment begins, Dr. K designs the smile on paper. A digital 3D model is then created so the proposed design can be reviewed and refined together with the patient. A beautiful smile isn’t simply about whiter teeth. It’s about thoughtful design, balance, and proportion achieved through careful planning from the get-go.
Luminous Porcelain Veneers and Implant Esthetics
Delicately handcrafted, layered porcelain veneers give this smile a luminous, almost ethereal quality. An implant and implant crown were also placed to restore the upper-right bicuspid. Planning the implant and veneers together from the very beginning allowed us to create a seamless result—one in which the implant crown blends effortlessly with the natural teeth and porcelain veneers.
Foundation-First Smile Rehabilitation With Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain is not where a smile rehabilitation should begin. It is where the plan should come together. For this patient, we started by developing and aligning the arches without retracting the teeth or compromising valuable tongue space. Because the orthodontic plan was designed around the final restorations, we intentionally preserved space between the teeth. That space was not a problem to hide. It was part of the plan. It allowed us to improve tooth proportions while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. Only after the arches and bite were properly positioned did we place carefully planned porcelain veneers to restore the teeth and create proportions that felt natural for her face. The result is more than a smile covered in porcelain. It is a smile built on a stable, functional foundation—one that respects jaw movement, tongue space, and the airway. The best cosmetic dentistry is not about doing more. It is about planning better. Build the foundation first. Then use porcelain only where it truly belongs.
Preservation Over Preparation: Phased Porcelain Veneers
These veneers were designed and fabricated in our in-house lab by our “resident ceramist”—Dr. Keerti herself. One of Dr. K’s great passions is creating her own porcelain restorations using CAD/CAM dentistry, an art and science she also teaches through lectures and hands-on workshops. In this case, the worn dentition was first rebuilt in resin, allowing us to carefully establish the ideal form, function, and proportions. Over time, the resin restorations were thoughtfully transitioned into porcelain, preserving the original tooth structure while creating a strong, beautiful, and lasting result. Preservation over preparation. Restoration, not reduction. Read more about APT therapy for worn dentition in another case below.
Smile Refresh: Replacing Fractured Veneers
A smile refresh is not simply a matter of replacing old veneers with newer ones. Her existing veneers had begun to fracture, signaling the need to reassess the design—not just the porcelain. The old restorations were carefully removed and replaced with bonded porcelain veneers designed with functional stability in mind. The proportions were refined, and the emergence profiles were reworked to better support the gumline. The result is a brighter, more harmonious smile built for longevity while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Veneers
Gestalt Smile Design. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. You don’t always need 10 veneers. This patient’s smile was transformed with just two carefully designed veneers. By restoring the teeth that visually dominated her smile, the surrounding teeth appeared more balanced and beautiful too. That is the power of Gestalt smile design: when the right details change, we perceive the entire smile differently. Sometimes, less truly is more.
Implant Plus Smile Makeover
Since tooth #8 was no longer savable due to a root fracture, we restored it with an implant and implant crown and rejuvenated the worn smile with a few carefully designed bespoke porcelain veneers. The result reflects exactly what this elegant lady wanted - a natural smile - with teeth that look like teeth.
Smile Rehab With An Implant
This truly gorgeous patient disliked the size, shape and color of her old crowns on her front teeth. They did not match her personality or her style. The fractured lateral prompted her to seek our help for a full smile rehab. Her smile looks absolutely gorgeous but the lips often hide a lot. So we want you to look at her smile behind the lips.
Minimal-Preparation Veneers
Correctly planned and executed minimal-preparation veneers should do more than preserve tooth structure - they should also enhance the health and architecture of the gingival tissues. Thoughtful contours, emergence profiles, contact areas and precisely finished margins allow the gingiva to frame the restorations beautifully. The result is not simply better-looking teeth, but a healthier, more harmonious smile.
Esthetic Implant Crown
The commoditization of cosmetic dentistry can ultimately hurt patients - because not all crowns are created equal. The implant crown in the top photograph may be considered “fitting and functional.” But it is not esthetically pleasing. Dental insurance is designed primarily to restore health and function, not to guarantee an exceptional esthetic result. Just as insurance does not pay for facelifts, lip fillers, or teeth whitening, it generally does not cover the additional training, planning, artistry, materials, laboratory expertise, and clinical time required to create an esthetically superior crown. Exceptional esthetic dentistry costs more because it requires more. A crown should not merely fit. It should respect the gingiva, harmonize with the neighboring teeth, complement the lips and face, and appear as though it has always belonged there.
Single-Tooth Implant Crown
It is said that restoratively matching a single central to its natural twin is the hardest challenge in dentistry. It is doubly challenging when the restoration is on an implant, being matched to an all-natural dentition - as in this case, because #8 was deemed unsavable due to internal root resorption. Dr. Keerti teaches her “filter, flip and fill” protocol in her workshops exactly to address such scenarios. This lovely, lovely patient of ours has enjoyed her confident smile for over 8 years now.
No-Drill Resin Veneers
A MIDAS Makeover: Minimally Invasive Dental Aesthetic Solutions. Understanding proportion and harmony is the foundation of Dr. Keerti's MIDAS makeover. This gorgeous patient had been advised to repeat orthodontic treatment or have her teeth reduced for veneers. Using completely additive, drill-free, hand-layered resin veneers, we created a naturally elegant, harmonious smile while preserving her natural tooth structure. This is the MIDAS touch - it turns perceived challenges of a case, like small teeth, into an advantage: we don't need to drill down the teeth.
Drill-Free Treatment For Worn Teeth
Instead of drilling down teeth that were already worn, we first sought to understand and correct the cause of the wear. Once a harmonious bite was established through aligner therapy, the teeth were restored entirely additively with direct resin veneers, preserving the remaining natural tooth structure.
APT: Additive Phased Therapy for Worn Teeth
APT: Additive Phased Therapy for Worn Teeth. Restoration! NOT Reduction!!! When teeth are already worn down, the last thing they need is to be aggressively reduced for a mouthful of crowns. Instead, our Additive Phased Therapy (APT) takes a more conservative approach. We FIRST REBUILD the worn teeth and open the bite by adding resin - not by drilling away more healthy tooth structure. This transitional phase restores form and function while allowing us to evaluate the new bite over time. When appropriate, the resin is gradually replaced with porcelain overlays and veneers over time. This phased treatment allows patient musculature and physiology the time for gradual adaptation to the new bite, while conserving precious tooth structure!
Who Deserves Beautiful Esthetic Dentistry?
Do you deserve a beautiful esthetic solution even if you are not in the market for 20 veneers? Yes. One hundred percent, yes. Esthetic dentistry is not about transforming everyone into the same manufactured ideal. It is about restoring beauty through health, individualized for you. Even if all you need—or want—is a single implant crown, it can and should be created to blend seamlessly into your smile, not someone else’s idea of what your smile should be.
Instant Orthodontics With Additive Resin Veneers
We are asked about “instant orthodontics” quite often. When treatment is mostly additive and does not involve aggressive tooth reduction, it can certainly be an excellent option in carefully selected cases—particularly when tooth size and proportion are concerns in addition to alignment. This gorgeous patient disliked the way her lateral incisors appeared in photographs. Because they were set back in the arch, they caught less light and often looked gray. We corrected the concerns with tooth size, color, rotation, and alignment using no-prep, additive-only resin veneers in one carefully planned appointment. No drilling. No unnecessary removal of healthy enamel. Not traditional orthodontics, but thoughtful, additive smile design for the right patient.
